Dr. Apostolos Gaitanis qualified from the University of Athens Medical School in 1988 with distinction. He began his general surgery training in 1990 in Greece and completed it in the U.K. in various accredited NHS posts in 1992.
Following this, he completed his advanced training in plastic reconstructive and aesthetic surgery in many accredited-NHS posts in the UK from 1993-1997, as recognised by the Royal College of Surgeons. During this time he also gained experience in microsurgical techniques and cosmetic procedures.
All his posts were recognized by the Royal College of Surgeons for training in plastic Surgery and he was exposed to all aspects of plastic Surgery including, extensive reconstructive work, surgery of the hand, microsurgical techniques and cosmetic procedures.
In February 1998 Dr Gaitanis was awarded the title of Specialist Plastic Surgeon following examinations set by the Hellenic National Board of Plastic Surgery in accordance with European Union regulations. Dr Gaitanis is fully registered with the Athens Medical Association as a Specialist Plastic Surgeon. His registration number is: 030700.
In September 1998, Dr Gaitanis was recognised by the European Boards of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery in the UK. Dr Gaitanis is fully registered with the UK’s General Medical Council as a Specialist Plastic Surgeon. His registration number is: 3502268
Dr Gaitanis is also a member of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS).
Since leaving the NHS in 1997, Dr Gaitanis has established his own private practice in Harley Street, London. He is very experienced in all aspects of Cosmetic Plastic Surgery and takes pride in his personalised, quality care that he offers to his patients.
Dr Gaitanis regularly attends national and international meetings in Europe and the US in order to continue to offer cutting-edge techniques to his patients with the ultimate goal being a natural, fresh look.
Since November 2004, Dr Gaitanis has been able to offer his services as a Specialist Plastic Surgeon in Athens at a very prestigious private hospital.
Dr Gaitanis is a well-known media personality both in the UK and in Greece.
